Youngest candidate for North Yorkshire County Council

ONE of the youngest Conservative candidates ever will be running for a seat on North Yorkshire Country Council.

Jake Grose, 23, is thought to be one of the youngest candidates to run, and if he is successful he will also be the youngest councillor elected by the authority.

Mr Grose, an operations technician from Richmond, was unanimously named as the Conservative candidate by a meeting of party members in the town.

He said “I am very proud of Richmond and want to ensure my town gets the best possible local facilities and services, I also want to make sure they’re delivered efficiently, keeping taxes low to help hard-working local families in these tough times."

Council leader John Weighell said “It’s great to have young people like Jake wanting to do their bit for their community and I’m sure if elected he will have a lot to offer the council, not least being able to look at things from a younger perspective.”
