Darlington man joins attempt to run distance of the earth's circumference

A DARLINGTON MAN is joining forces with 1,000 runners as they attempt to run the distance of the earth’s circumference.

Paul Cook, 38, will join the Mr Men and Little Miss team at this year’s Virgin London Marathon as they try to run 25,000 miles in aid of the Children with Cancer UK charity.

The challenge is being undertaken in order to mark the 25th anniversary of the charity, which raises money to fund the research and treatment of childhood cancer.

Mr Cook, a Customer Experience Designer for EE, is hoping to raise £12,000 to help the charity.

He said: “The time, effort and dedication I put myself through is nothing compared to what these children go through, they are truly inspiring.”

Mr Cook, together with two of his colleagues, also recently organised a black tie event at Rockcliffe Hall in aid of the charity.

The marathon will take place on Sunday April 21. To sponsor Mr Cook, visit uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/broswithdifferentmos.
