Band take away grand prize in Darlington competition

A TALENTED band scooped £200 of studio time and a trophy when they won a competition in Darlington.

Costa Del Soul won the annual Battle of the Bands held at the Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College recently.

The sell out event, which kicked off with a performance from staff band Oldplay, saw six bands battle it out to take away the grand prize.

Funk band Costa Del Soul were delighted to receive the studio time and the Liam Harker Trophy.

Guitarist Tom Stephenson said: “It’s a truly humbling thing to know we have so much support at QE...We had a brilliant time just playing and being part of such a high quality event and for this, we are most grateful.”
