FIRE CREWS had to free a man from his vehicle after a serious accident in Darlington this morning.
At around 6am, emergency services were called to a report of a road traffic accident on the A66 Bridge Road, between the Reg Vardy roundabout and the Northern Echo Arena.
When fire crews arrived, three adults had escaped the wreckage of a vehicle, but one man was left trapped. His condition is currently unknown.
Police are investigating the incident, which is believed to have occurred when the vehicle left the road.
Bridge Road currently remains closed in both directions as a result of the accident. Diversions via local routes are in place and it is not yet known when the roads will reopen.
