Volunteers sought to help people with epilepsy

A CHARITY is appealing for volunteers to help them assist people with epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Society would like to train up local residents so that they can help to run their information point at Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Dee Moore, Epilepsy Society’s regional manager for the area, said: “I would love to hear from anyone who thinks they may be able to help make a difference to local people in need of information.

“All we ask is that you’re a good listener, keen to help, enjoy meeting people, are happy to learn new skills and can commit to helping Epilepsy Society for at least a few hours a month.”

No prior knowledge about epilepsy is needed as all volunteers will be invited to attend a two day training course.

Those interested in volunteering should contact Dee Moore on 07834655989 or email dee.moore@epilepsysociety.org.uk for more information or an application pack.

The charity is also seeking volunteers to help them re-stock information stands around Darlington, Durham and Bishop Auckland.
