A DISPERSAL order has been put in place on a Middlesbrough estate in a bid to crackdown on crime and anti-social behaviour.
Cleveland Police have secured a six-month order for Coulby Newham to tackle problems in the immediate area surrounding the Parkway Centre on Dalby Way and includes residential areas such as Harvington Chase and Raincliffe Court.
It is in response to increases in antisocial behaviour, low level crime and criminal damage, predominantly carried out on an evening by young people who gather round local shops and fast food outlets.
Neighbourhood Policing Sergeant Brian Hallas (CORR) said: “I want to reassure residents that we are committed to tackling issues in this area and will be using the powers at our disposal to bring those responsible for crime to justice.
“We will be dealing robustly with offences with the aim of reducing crime further within the local community and I urge anyone with any information in relation to crime and anti-social behaviour to contact us.”
The dispersal order will run from March 15 until September 15 and officers believe it will help them to tackle the issues that have been reported.
