Literary characters come to life at Darlington school for World Book Day

LITERARY characters came to life at a Darlington school to celebrate World Book Day.
Dracula, Sherlock Holmes, Cruella de Vil and Where’s Wally were all seen walking the corridors of Hummersknott Academy as students swapped their school uniforms for costumes of their favourite literary characters to celebrate the annual event, which champions books and aims to inspire a love of reading.
Teachers joined in the fancy dress fun as the English department donned on costumes, while the design technology teachers came dressed as the full cast of The Wizard of Oz.
