Warning after potentially lethal drugs stolen
1:30pm Friday 8th March 2013 in News
DRUG users are being urged to be vigilant after a large quantity of animal medication was stolen from a vets’ surgery.
The Dale and Vale veterinary surgery in Northallerton was broken into on February 22 and a variety of animal medication was taken.
Two local men, aged 36 and 37, were quickly arrested and charged with burglary and a large amount of the drugs were recovered by the police.
However, some of the drugs are still unaccounted for - and officers are warning people that the medication is potentially dangerous.
Detective Constable Donna Anderson said: “If you are offered any of the animal drugs for sale you need to be aware that some of these medications can be lethal.
“I would urge drug users to be careful about what they are taking as the animal drugs are not designed for human consumption.”
Anyone with information about the raid or the whereabouts of the drugs is asked to contact [police on 101, select option two and ask for Donna Anderson. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
