Two glassed in bar attack

DETECTIVES are investigating after two men were glassed in a vicious attack in a Harrogate bar.

The victims both suffered head injuries when they were attacked by two other men in Lure Bar, in the Ginnel, at about 11.50pm on Saturday, March 2.

It is believed that the victims had just entered the premises and were trying to get to the bar when the incident occurred. They were taken hospital for treatment but were discharged shortly afterwards.

Both suspects were in their early 20s. The first man is described as being about 5ft 9in tall with a medium build and short brown hair. He had stubble on his chin and was wearing a fitted, grey top.

The second man was taller than the first, with a stocky build and short blonde hair. He was possibly wearing a white T-shirt.

Detective Constable Kirsten Aldridge said: “This is an isolated incident for Lure Bar and their staff were quick to react and are currently assisting with our enquiries to identify the suspects.

“The bar was busy at the time of the incident and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened to come forward as soon as possible.”
