A CHARITY presentation evening saw £12,600 being given out to 29 local causes after a bike trial event in October.
The Scott Trial Charity Presentation Evening took place on Friday, March 1 at the Buck Hotel in Reeth to award the cash.
The Grand Bike Raffle at the Reeth Three Day Trial contributed to £10,000 given out to charities on the night which includes local primary schools, Hambleton and Richmond Multiple Sclerosis Society, Swaledale and Arkengathdale Luncheon Clubs Association, Richmondshire Cricket Club, Moorland Association, St Teresa’s Hospice, and Wensleydale Rugby Club Development Fund, among others.
A further £2,600 was raised by Tom and Robert Lowes for Brain Tumor UK in memory of their father Colin Lowes, a former Scott Trial rider.
Scott Trial chairman John Fraser said the money had been raised through programme sales, entry fees, an auction evening and generous sponsorship of the event and awards.
