THE next meeting of Darlington Retired Teachers’ Association will take place on Wednesday (March 13), at 2pm, in the Harroway Room at Elm Ridge Methodist Church. David Allaway, who works in the mayor’s office, will give a talk. Visitors and new members are welcome. For more details, call 01325-353367.
MAYOR’S PLANS: Darlington mayor Paul Baldwin will attend an event to raise awareness of Huntington’s Disease, at Willow Green Care Home, in Ridsdale Street, at 2pm, on Monday (March 11). He will attend the Vibe Awards, at Darlington Civic Theatre, at 6pm, on Wednesday.
COMMITTEE MEETS: A regular meeting of Darlington Borough Council’s efficiency and resources scrutiny committee will be held on Thursday (March 14), at 9.30pm, at the town hall. It follows an extra meeting of the committee, being held on Tuesday (March 12), to discuss the controversial decision to proceed with a merger of Blackwell and Stressholme golf clubs.
