STUDENTS from across east Middlesbrough were treated to a visit from a best-selling author to mark World Book Day.
Simon Murray celebrated the day with over a hundred students from Unity City Academy (UCA) and also local primary schools by working with them to develop their skills.
The author is well-known for creating the character Icky Doo Dah and also illustrated the best-selling Mokee Joe series, written by his father Peter J Murray.
The academy takes part in World Book Day every year to help raise literacy standards amongst students and the local community.
The main aim of the event is to encourage children to enjoy books and reading by providing them with the opportunity to have a book of their own through a book token scheme.
