Delton O’Neill, 18, from Rowan Court, Catterick, Sam Hanlon, 23, from Ferndale Close, Wingate, County Durham and a 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, all appeared before Northallerton Magistrates for committal to crown court.

The charges relate to the death of pedestrian Douglas Robertson in Stokesley on January 19, who was hit by a vehicle.

The 15-year-old has been charged with death by dangerous driving and driving without a licence or insurance.

Mr Hanlon and Mr O’Neill have both been charged with allowing themselves to be carried in a vehicle that was taken and being involved in a car accident which caused the death of Mr Robertson.

Magistrates committed Mr Hanlon and the juvenile to Teesside Crown Court and both were returned to custody.

Mr O’Neill was granted conditional bail and will reappear before Northallerton Magistrates Court on April 12 at 10am for his committal papers to be read.
