Darlington toddlers find their groove at Zumba sessions
11:49am Wednesday 6th March 2013 in News
TODDLERS discovered the beat as they exercised their way to better health.
Youngsters at the childcare centre at Darlington College took part in a Zumba session hosted by local business, First Step 2 Fitness.
Zumba instructor Susan Spinks said: “It is never too early to start exercising and if we can get young people enjoying it from an early age they are more likely to continue it into adulthood.”
She held a number of Zumba sessions, which combines Latin dance and physical exercise, for a variety of age groups at the centre.
Centre manger Andi Cartwright said: “Being active from a very young age is essential to our future health and prevent health issues later in life.
“We try to lay the foundations making exercise a fun and natural part of the children’s routine; that way they don’t even realise they are exercising and improving their health.”
