Pop duo Go West to headline Sedgefield charity ball

MOUTH-WATERING seafood, fabulous fashion and chart-topping pop stars are promised at a charity ball.

The inaugural Lobster Charity Ball at Hardwick Hall in Sedgefield, County Durham, on Friday, April 26, will feature a performance from eighties pop duo Go West, who had many hits including We Close Our Eyes, Call Me, Don’t Look Down and The King of Wishful Thinking.

They will be supported on stage by Britain’s Got Talent finalists Jonathan and Charlotte, who dazzled audiences with their operatic talents, and comedy ventriloquist Paul Zerdin.

Aimed at raising money for North-East autism charity Daisy Chain, the ball will also include a fashion show, featuring designer labels from Van Mildert – an award-winning fashion house with stores in Durham, Darlington, York and the Metro Centre.

Guests can also look forward to gastronomic delights courtesy of Hardwick Hall’s head chef Mark Flood and Paul Beckwith, head chef at the Rib Room Steakhouse and Grill at the Ramside Hotel in Durham.

Mr Beckwith has created a Lobster Surf and Turf menu especially for the event. And Mr Flood and his team will prepare the dishes using locally sourced lobsters from Hartlepool.

Matt Simpson, Chief Executive of Daisy Chain, said: “It’s very exciting that we’ve been chosen as the nominated charity for this flagship event. “We look forward to a fantastic evening and are delighted to be a part of it.”

Packages start at £125 per person plus VAT. To book contact 01740-620253 or dawn.coates@hardwickhallhotel.co.uk
