Lions club raises funds for hospice

DARLINGTON Lions Club has presented a cheque for £250 to St Teresa’s Hospice.

Jenny Lumley, chairwoman of the service committee of Darlington Lions Club, presented a cheque for £250 to hospice chief executive Jane Bradshaw.

She was shown around the building and grounds of the hospice and the Lions commented that the facilities were fantastic and the hospice seemed a very relaxing place.

St Teresa's Hospice is an independent charity providing free care and support to the people of South Durham and North Yorkshire.

The services offered are very extensive and includes day therapy, at-home care, bereavement support, family support, Lymphoedema clinic.

These services give support to people with life-limiting illness and to support their carers and to their families.

Lions vice-president Robert Hillary said: "Darlington Lions Club over many years has been a big supporter of St Teresa's Hospice and I hope to continue with this support in the future.”
