New arts group launched
1:55pm Monday 4th March 2013 in News
A NEW project is being launched to help artists and makers raise the profile of their work.
Artists and Artisans has been set up by Sharon Longcroft, of Poplar Framing in Boroughbridge, and Judith Hartup, a botanical artist from Newton-on-Ouse.
The project will involve several events every year, with an open day featuring two or three exhibitors followed by a longer exhibition for one of the artists.
To launch the initiative, eight exhibitors including a stained glass artist, a print maker and a jeweller, will take part in an event at Aldborough village hall from 10am to 4pm on March 23.
Entry is free and there will be plenty of original artwork on sale at prices to suit all budgets.
As well as displaying their work, the exhibitors will be available to speak to visitors about what they do and some will be demonstrating their techniques. For more information, visit http://artistsandartisans.wordpress.com/
