Rarest orchids to go on show

Some of the rarest orchids in the world will be on display at an exhibition at the Royal Horticultural Society’s northern base.

The exhibition is being staged at Harlow Carr, in Harrogate, on March 16 and 17, giving visitors the chance to see a large range of orchids which are not found in garden centres or shops.

Chairman of Harrogate Orchid Society, Hilary Hobb,s said:” "It’s not often you get an opportunity to see such a large range of rare orchids together; with so many plants in one display it’s sure to be an amazing sight.”

They will also be running potting demonstrations and offering expert advice on how to grow orchids. People are also invited to bring along their problem plants to show to the experts for advice on how to try and rescue them.
