The joys and challenges of farming from the female perspective are the subject of a lunch event being organised by the Yorkshire Rural Support Network. Lorna Tyson, a farmer’s wife and businesswoman from The Wirral will be the guest speaker at the event on Thursday, March 21 at Sandburn Hall, near Flaxton, from 10.30am. HIKERS’ DIARY DATE: Northallerton Ramblers will be staging a walk around Great Broughton in North Yorkshire on Thursday, March 7. The eight mile walk will start at 10am, meeting at Clay Bank car park. It will follow the Cleveland Way to Carlton bank and return via forest tracks.
