NEW BINS: Homes in Hartlepool will continue to receive their new recycling bins this week with deliveries taking place in Throston, King Oswy, Clavering and Hart Village. Most of the town’s 42,000 households are being given new grey wheeled bins to replace their existing white poly bags and blue bags as part of major changes to the way the Borough Council collects households’ refuse and recycling.
SHOW TIME: Talented songwriters and musicians from Middlesbrough College hope to rock the house when they perform together for a final time. The Final Major Project event at Mink Tattoo and Coffee Bar in Middlesbrough features six artists including rap-rock band Bi-Lingual, singer/songwriter Katy Hadwin-Woodworth and Olly Compitus. The artists are taking to the stage on Tuesday, March 12, starting at 7pm. Tickets are £2 and available by contacting 01642-333720.
ETHICAL TRADING: An offer of three for the price of two on most craft items will be available to visitors at a Fairtrade shop at Emmanuel hall, off Windsor Road, Saltburn, on Saturday, March 9. Local activist Annette Adams will be selling a large collection of crafts and jewellery created by Traidcraft and Tearcraft, plus food and confectionary. The shop will be open from 10am till 2pm.
