A SECTION of dual carriageway was shut early on Saturday morning following a collision between a car and a digger.
A woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident on the eastbound carriageway of the A66, near the Yarm Road turnoff near Eaglescliffe.
The accident happened at 7.23am on Saturday and involved a Suzuki Swift and a mobile digger.
Fire crews were on hand to cut a female passenger out of the Suzuki. She suffered minor injuries. Police and ambulance attended the scene.
A spokesman for Cleveland Police said due to the positioning of the digger and vehicle, both lanes had to be shut. Diversions were put in place while the road was cleared of debris.
