TWO sell-out concerts hit the right note for students raising money towards the adventure of a lifetime this summer.
Barnard Castle School pupils Charlotte McAllister, Elizabeth Clouston, Dan Milne and Jacob Bradford-Parker are bound for Borneo where they will spend four weeks working on a number of voluntary projects.
As part of activities to raise the £18,000 needed to cover expedition costs, the youngsters, all 15, organised matinee and evening performances by A Military Wives Choir at The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle.
After expenses, the two shows raised £6,000 towards their target.
Jacob said: “Both concerts and the support from everyone were just amazing.
A spokeswoman for the choir, based in Catterick, North Yorkshire, added: “We all had a fabulous time, brilliantly supported by performances from some of the children from Barnard Castle School.”
