Teesdale Words writing group to welcome poet Felicity Manning to next meeting

A WRITING group is to study how foreign languages can help develop members' work.

Swaledale poet Felicity Manning will be the guest when Teesdale Words meets at The NeST Gallery, Newgate, Barnard Castle, on Thursday, March 21, starting at 6pm.

She will give an insight into how composing poetry in English and French has helped her work.

Participants will then try a series of word games and creative exercises.

Knowledge of a foreign language is not essential but those wishing to have a go are asked to bring pen, paper and a dictionary.

Places costing £5 are limited and can be booked through the gallery.

Teesdale Words was set up as part of the legacy of the Barnard Castle Winning Words cultural Olympic poetry project.

The group aims to promote and provide a forum for creative writing among established and potential authors and poets associated with the area.

Further details are available from Judith Lesley Marshall on 07808-063944 or email julema@tiscali.co.uk
