A NORTH East racecourse is preparing to dish up a traditional English raceday, with the return of one of 2011’s most popular fixtures.
Sedgefield Racecourse in County Durham is hosting its Fish Fryers Raceday on Sunday, March 3, serving up the traditional British treat of fish and chips to guests on the day.
The raceday, which starts at 12:20pm and has seven live races, will be the only weekend meeting at the racecourse this year.
Jill Williamson, general manager of Sedgefield Racecourse, said that the team was gearing up for what they expect to be a popular raceday.
“The 2011 Fish Fryers Raceday was exceptionally popular, and we’re sure this meeting will be no different,” she added.
The raceday is the start of three race meetings in March at Sedgefield, with The Cheltenham Festival Raceday on Tuesday, March 12, and the Wade and Collins Hurdle Final on Friday, March 22.
Tickets start at £13 with Fish and chip packages still available for Sunday’s event priced at £22. For more information to buy tickets, visit www.sedgefield-racecourse.co.uk or call 01740 621925.
