Home needed: Aston
A THREE-year-old dog found abandoned in the street is looking for a new home.
Aston, a husky-German Shepherd cross, is being cared for by the National Animal Sanctuaries Support League (Nassl) after he was found wandering as a stray in Coxhoe, County Durham.
A large dog, bigger than the average German Shepherd, Aston needs a lot of exercise and an owner used to looking after strong dogs.
Pauline Wilson, from Nassl, said: “He’s got a really nice temperament and a really lovely personality. He is used to other dogs but I think he would probably be better off as the only dog in the home.
“He needs an experienced handler because he’s a big strong dog that needs a lot of exercise. He needs more than just a quick run around the park – he could go for miles every day.”
To help, or to adopt another dog, call Mrs Wilson on 01325-321855 or go to nassl.org. uk.
* The charity is also looking to rehome a one-year-old Lhasa Apso/West Highland terrier cross. The female dog belongs to an elderly couple who are unable to cope with her. For information call Nassl.
