Middlesbrough singer Terri is on song for contest

A NUNTHORPE teenager has made it through to the live stages of a major national singing competition.

Terri McGee, 19, made it through to the North-East regional final in the TeenStar competition which attracts 10,000 entrants.

The Teesside University performance and recorded media student explained she practices on a microphone attached to her father’s old laptop.

However she impressed judges enough last weekend by singing the Christina Perri hit Jar of Hearts to make it through to the regional final at the Tyne Theatre, Newcastle on Saturday, March 23.

She said: “It’s a huge competition, there’s thousands go for it. I’m excited to get through and just hope I can make it to London.”

TeenStar is organised by Future Music who already produce the Open Mic UK competition.
