Lock your bikes, police warn

BIKE THEFTS: Police in Darlington have urged people to secure their bike at all time when it is not being used after officers learned that thieves are patrolling the town looking for bikes left unattended and unlocked. Bike owners are asked to lock their bikes, even if they are only leaving it for a few minutes, to deter thieves.
WARD SURGEY: A joint ward surgery held by councillors representing the Haughton North, East and West areas will take place at Asda, in Whinbush Way, on Saturday, March 2, between 10am and 11.30am.
YOUNG WRESTLERS: A junior wrestlers class, aimed at children aged between five and 15, is held each Saturday at The Lab, on Faverdale Industrial Estate, at 2pm. The first class is free and £2 for each session afterwards.
HEALTH TALK: The Gold – Growing Older Living in Darlington – group will meet at Havelock Street Community Centre, on Monday, March 4, at 10.15am, to discuss health issues affecting the over-50s. For more information email gold@darlington.gov.uk LANDLORD SUPPORT: The Tees Valley Private Landlord Forum, a drop-in event open to landlords with properties in Darlington, will meet at the Middlesbrough Training and Learning Centre, in Cargo Fleet Lane, on Tuesday, March 5. The event, open between 12.45pm and 5pm, will discuss legal and financial issues facing landlords.
PET THERAPY: A fundraising coffee morning in aid of Pets as Therapy will be held at The Lawns Residential Care Home, in Ridsdale Street, Darlington, on Saturday, March 2, between 10am and noon.
RUNMMAGE SALE: A books and clothes rummage sale will take place at St James the Great Church, in Albert Hill, Darlington, on Saturday between noon and 2pm.
