A TEESSIDE MP has visited a pop-up food bank outside the Houses of Parliament to draw attention to growing poverty. Alex Cunningham, Labour MP for Stockton North, said the number of people supported by food banks had risen from 2,800 in 2005/06 to 128,000 now. He said: “It is appalling that this level of support is needed in 21st century Britain.”
