The Breathing Spaces project, based in Northallerton, is holding a fundraising event, where people can purchase gifts by the company, Girlie Gardening tomorrow (Wednesday, February 27 ). The event will be held at the Zion Church Hall, Northallerton from 7pm until 9pm. It will also involve a talk about the party planning company. Breathing Spaces provides social activities for people with learning difficulties across Hambleton, Richmondshire, Stokesley, Easingwold. Tickets £3 and include coffee and cakes.

ROCK AND ROLL NIGHT: Northallerton Cricket and Tennis Club is holding a 1950s night on Saturday, March 2 at 8pm. The event is to raise funds for the club so it can continue to offer facilities for cricket and tennis. There will be live music from local band Borderline, playing rock and roll music from the 1950s and 1960s. Tickets can be bought on the door, or ordered in advance by calling 01609-775058. Tickets are £5 adults, £3 children or £12 families.

GARDENING SCHEME: AGE UK North Yorkshire will be holding its monthly coffee morning at its Northallerton office on Thursday, March 7 from 10.30am until 12 noon when the theme will be spring gardening. People can also find out more about the society’s Garden Buddy Scheme.

HISTORICAL AUTHOR: Snape Local History Group will be hosting a talk on Friday, March 8 with author Katie Whitaker. The event will be held at 7.30pm in Snape Village Institute, where the author will speak about her book, A Royal Passion, which looks at the marriage of King Charles I to Henrietta Maria. Non-members are very welcome for the small fee of £2.50 which includes light refreshments.
