POLICE in Middlesbrough are warning car owners following nine thefts in five days from motor vehicles.

Since Friday, February 21, nine thefts have been reported within the boundary area of Abingdon Road, Marton Road, Claireville Road, Park Road North, Linthorpe Road and Grange Road.

The vehicles targeted were predominantly taxis and the offences have occurred during the night, between midnight and 6am. Items such as satellite navigation systems and mobile phones were stolen.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact PC Andrew Harland of Middlesbrough CID on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
