STUDENTS at Hurworth School will get an insight into the world of work at a careers event on Wednesday (February 27). A range of employers and training providers will be on hand to provide information about life after school. Students from years nine, ten and 11 will take part. Andy Walker, Darlington chief reporter for The Northern Echo, will offer students advice on how to get into journalism.

OPEN DAY: Darlington mayor Paul Baldwin will attend an open event at Just Learning nursery, in Cockerton, on Saturday (March 2), to celebrate its re-brand as a Busy Bees nursery. The event, which will raise funds for the Clic Sargent cancer charity, runs from 10am to 1pm.
