EMPLOYEES at a mobile phone company are hosting blood donation sessions in support of the Darlington Blood Donation week.
Starting on Monday (February 25), the event is supported by staff at EE, the company that runs Orange and T-mobile.
The company, which has offices on Yarm Road Industrial Estate, has more than 2,000 staff in Darlington and has supported Blood Donation Week since 2008.
EE organises its own on-site donation sessions where staff are able to take time from their working day to register as a blood donor.
So far, employees have given 765 donations, with every unit of blood saving up to three lives and up to 3,300 lives in total.
EE has 16,500 employees nationally.
As well as enabling staff to support Darlington Blood Donation week, EE is also encouraging local people to register as blood donors.
The NHS currently has 1.4 million blood donors, reflecting only four per cent of the population.
