A HAULAGE business that survived with just £40 in its account back in 1973 is celebrating its 40th anniversary this month.
Fracks Transport Ltd was set up by Stanley Fraquet and his wife Sandra in February 1973 when he bought his first pickup and started the business with little money, having £40 at one point with no work in sight.
After canvassing local companies work began to flow in until the name Fracks Transport was well known around the Darlington and Aycliffe area.
Now in 2013 the company has a fleet of 30 trailers and 31 mixed vehicles made up of artics, ten tonne rigids, pickups and vans which operate throughout the country.
Fracks Transport Ltd is based at Aycliffe Industrial Estate, Newton Aycliffe.
