Man assaulted on River Tees path near Merrybent, Darlington

A MAN was attacked and had his camera stolen while walking by the River Tees on the outskirts of Darlington today.
He was photographing scenes next to the riverside path near Merrybent at about 12.30pm when he was approached by a man in his 30's who was with two youths and two Staffordshire Bull Terrier dogs.
The victim, who had his Nikon D300S camera stolen, was assaulted but not seriously hurt.
His attackers made off in the direction of Merrybent.
DC Zoe Mason is appealling for information from anyone who may have seen the group or any suspicious vehicles in lay-bys along the nearby A67 to call Darlington CID on 01325 742071.
