AN award-winning wildlife artist is exhibiting his work in Teesside.
Dennis Roddam’s ‘Teesside – Naturally’ exhibition will be showcased at Middlesbrough’s Dorman Museum until July.
The work on display focuses on his observations of local wildlife whilst also paying homage to the museum itself, which was a major influence on the artist as a child.
During his childhood years, Mr Roddam developed a fascination with nature, learning to identify wildlife through regular walks in the countryside. His frequent trips to the Dorman Museum encouraged him to discover more about the natural world.
The inspiration behind his exhibition comes directly from a selection of the museum’s local taxidermy specimens, several of which will be on display to complement his work.
Mr Roddam – who was a finalist in the BBC’s Wildlife Artist of the Year competition is a regular exhibitor at the annual National Exhibition of Wildlife Art and works in a variety of media including acrylics, water colours, lino printing and printed ceramic tiles.
