Police appeal after store robbery

SCARBOROUGH police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at the Premier Store in Victoria road. At around 6.30am on Tuesday 19 February, a man walked into the store produced a knife, and demanded the contents of the till, cigarettes and alcohol. There was very little money in the till and the offender fled the store without any cash, but with cigarettes, two bottles of Jack Daniels and a lighter, making his way along Norwood Street. The suspect is described as around 6ft 2in, heavy build wearing a grey tracksuit and hoodie, with a scarf around his face.
FIRE crews cut free a 65 year old man who was trapped after his ford transit overturned on the A169 at Ellerbeck Bridge, near Goathland on Monday evening. Officers from Whitby, Lythe and Goathland were involved in the operation using hydraulic cutting equipment and lighting. Crews then assisted paramedics to move the man. He was taken to James Cook University Hospital with spinal injuries.
