Butterwick Hospice to benefit from links to chemical firm

Staff from Lotte Chemical mark the start of the collaboration with Butterwick Hospice
A HOSPICE is set to benefit to the tune of £5,000 a year after joining forces with a chemical company.
Butterwick Hospice, in Stockto,n will reap the financial rewards thanks to the generosity of staff working for Lotte Chemical.
Human resources director, Stephen Trillo, said: “We support this ethos by being very community and family minded, a major supporter of apprenticeships and we have built strong links with colleges, schools, neighborouring communities and local causes.
“We have a social committee that works hard to organise events for our staff and families and they identify local causes to support.”
Donations from Lotte, which is based near Redcar, last year included the Great North Air Ambulance, the Redcar and Zetland Fun Park day as well Butterwick Hospice.
Mr Trillo added: “We see the sponsorship of Butterwick as building on our support of the community and as a partnership for the long term.
"Butterwick also do other things throughout the year that will enable us to have close links and support them via other activities that our employess can become involved in.”
And Anne Cooling, Butterwick Hospice’s corporate partnership manager, said: “We are delighted that Lotte Chemical has come on board as a corporate partner.
"It already does some fantastic work in the community and to have them as a partner is great for us.”
