Mr P the pony is big hit with care home residents

A PONY in a care home lift helped bring smiles to the faces of elderly and disabled residents.
Shetland ponies Molly and Mr P visited the North Park care home in Darlington as part of rehabilitation therapy for residents who suffer a range of mental and physical ailments.
The ponies were a big hit; especially Mr P the foal who was small enough to fit in the care home’s lift to visit residents on every floor of the home.
Activities co-ordinator Lesley Meredith said: “A lot of the residents were laughing because they had never seen a pony in a lift before.
“It was lovely seeing so many smiles from the residents, some who don’t smile much at all, but seeing their faces lit up when they saw the ponies was so nice to see.”
