New look: York is being given a mini makeover from today as part of a £200,000 scheme. Lighting, seating and bollards will be either restored, refurbished, removed or replaced as part of the Reinvigorate York initiative, funded by the local council.
Charity base: A former care home in Bishophill, York, is set to be turned into a health and social care centre for the voluntary sector. Planning approval has been granted for the £1.3m scheme, submitted by the York Council for Voluntary Service.
