More youths caught with booze in grounds of The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle

YOUTHS are continuing to use the grounds of a landmark museum as an unofficial drinking den.

In the latest incident, alcohol was seized from from a group of teenagers in the grounds of The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle, on Friday night.

Talks are ongoing between trustees at the museum and the town's police about the possibility of locking the gates to the grounds at night.

In the meantime, officers will continue to patrol in the area as the problem was highlighted as an issue at the most recent Barnard Castle Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting.
