Police step up patrols at Staindrop Primary School following outbreak of vandalism

POLICE are stepping up patrols around a village primary school after a number of acts of vandalism.

Play equipment at Staindrop Primary School has been damaged by cigarette burns and there has been out outbreak of grafitti.

Sergeant Simon Rogers, of Barnard Castle Police, said: “Things appear to be escalating and we are going to pay more attention to the area.”

The issue will be discussed at the Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting in the village on Tuesday, February 19, which takes place at the Scarth Hall, starting at 7.30pm.

All residents are welcome to attend and raise any issues or concerns with the police.
