DARLINGTON mayor Paul Baldwin had to cancel a visit to the Bridge Centre for Visual Arts, in Yarm Road, on Monday (February 18) due to illness. He had been due to visit the centre to learn more about the Openart Studio project, which aims to enhance participants’ mental wellbeing by exploring a range of creative and artistic activities. A spokeswoman for Darlington Borough Council said the visit would be rearranged in due course.

CABINET MEETS: Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet meets at 5pm on Tuesday (February 19), at the town hall. Members will discuss the authority’s finances, as well as plans for a £1m merger of the council-run Stressholme Golf Course and private Blackwell Golf Club.

HAIR TODAY: Rapunzel, the story of a girl with magical, golden locks, will be staged at Darlington Civic Theatre on April 1 and 2.
