SAINSBURY’S supermarket has launched its Active Kids Challenge to encourage schoolchildren across Darlington to lead healthier lifestyles.

The Victoria Road store opened the Challenge as part of the Sainsbury’s Active Kids scheme which asks local schools, groups and clubs to complete six weeks of challenges.

Supported by ambassadors David Beckham and paralympian Ellie Simmonds, the project sets four new challenges each week in the categories of game, skill, food and David Beckham’s one minute challenge.

Organisations that complete all six weeks of the challenges get the chance to win places at an Active Kids Challenge Live event to meet both Beckham and Simmonds.

Shoppers can also pick up vouchers and donate to a local charity of their choice until May 22.

Groups and schools wanting to get involved can visit www.sainsburys.co.uk/activekids for more information.
