A DALES museum has launched its events programme for 2013 and says it hopes it has something for everyone.

The first exhibition at the Dales Countryside Museum in Hawes, which is owned by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority (YDNPA), is showcasing the top 20 photos selected from the hundreds entered into the authority’s Your Yorkshire Dales: a Snapshot competition.

The exhibition runs until Wednesday, February 27 but the photos will still be on display in the building until the end of September.

Museum manager Fiona Rosher said: “We have a large selection of events planned for the year – old favourites and new additions too.

“There will be chances for people to try their hand at a range of different arts and crafts and there will be plenty of activities that we hope will bring to life the amazing cultural heritage of the National Park.”

Ian McPherson from the YDNPA said: “The museum contains a treasure trove of items and information about this fantastic National Park and gives visitors a chance to learn more about what makes it such a special place.”

The museum is open daily from 10am to 5pm and all the exhibitions are free and events are included in the museum entry price - £4 adults, £3.50 concessions, free for under-16s - unless otherwise stated.
