North Yorkshire firefighters tackle Dutch barn blaze near Northallerton

FIREFIGHTERS are dealing with a Dutch barn fire at Appleton Wiske, near Northallerton tonight (Friday, February 15).
The crews were called to the scene on Deighton Lane shortly before 8.30pm.
Two appliances and a water bowser were needed to tackle the flames which had taken hold in the straw filled building, which measured 40m by 20m.
Crews are currently trying to prevent the fire from spreading to other areas.
