POLICE are searching for a man who attacked a passer-by in a Darlington street.
The suspect, seen in the CCTV pictures, punched his victim to the floor before repeatedly striking him in Skinnergate, Darlington, at 2.45am on January 26.
PC Chris Horner, of Darlington police, said: “It was a nasty assault in which the victim can be seen on CCTV trying to walk away from the male in the image before being punched to the floor and struck repeatedly.
“An unknown male intervened and for his troubles was also assaulted. I am also keen to speak to him as a witness and possible victim.”
Anybody with any information is asked to call police on the non-emergency number, 101, and ask for PC Horner, or Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.
