IT was a case of so near yet so far for a North-East couple who missed out on a £6,000 jackpot when they appeared on a popular television game show.
David Ralph and Katie Banoub (correct), from Darlington, appeared on the BBC1 show Pointless on Wednesday (Febraury 13).
Having held off the challenges of the other contestants to reach the final, the pair were asked to name an obscure film starring the actor Gerard Butler.
Despite coming up with three answers that reached single figures when compared against producers’ survey results, the coveted ‘pointless’ answer proved elusive.
The pair said they had a fantastic time despite missing out on the prize money.
