WOMEN are invited to take part in a seven mile strut along the seafront for charity.

Teesside Hospice today (Wednesday February 13) launched their annual Starlight Stroll.

With lemon tops in hand, fundraisers went to Redcar’s virtual pier to encourage ladies to join in this year’s seaside themed challenge.

Jane O’Byrne, Fundraising Manager at Teesside Hospice, said: “Starlight Stroll is our biggest event of the year and we decided that 2013 was the time to give it a revamp.

"Redcar and the surrounding areas are a huge part of Teesside and we wanted to represent this with the Starlight Stroll. We hope that more ladies than ever will get involved and have the best night out in Teesside whilst supporting their local Hospice.”

The women only seven mile sponsored walk will see participants walk from Redcar Promenade to Marske and back on Saturday, June 22.

Entry to the stroll costs £15 and includes a Lemon Top handbook, a training top and an energising snack. Participants will also receive a medal and refreshments at the end of the event.
