A MAN now living in New Zealand has organised a reunion for residents of a former orphanage in North Yorkshire.
St George’s House, Northern Police Orphanage in Harrogate, closed in 1956 but Peter Taylor still runs a website which keeps records of information of the children who lived there - despite living in Wellington, New Zealand, since 1947.
Mr Taylor is appealing to any former residents he has lost contact with to attend the reunion in Harrogate in April.
The reunion will take place at the Majestic Hotel, Ripon Road, Harrogate, on Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21.
For more information contact Mr Taylor on stgeorgesharrogate@gmail.com, and for details on the reunions visit www.stgeorgesharrogate.org/stg22reunions.htm.
