NORTH EASTERNERS are being invited to chase the sun in aid of the NSPCC.
The ‘Chasing the Sun’ charity challenge will take place in the Lake District between sunrise and sunset on Saturday April 20.
Participants will bike, hike and canoe in aid of the North East branch of the national children’s charity. The challenge will begin at dawn with a 25-mile mountain bike ride around Derwentwater. An eight-mile hike up Catbells will follow before those taking part will canoe a mile back to their bikes and race to get to the finish line before sunset.
Registration for the event costs £30 per person, with a minimum sponsorship of £300 per person. To register, call 0844-892-1119 or email challenges@nspcc.org.uk.
